Photos from Jan 9 and 10, 2011

Sunday January 9, 2011

Sunday was one of those fabulous, lazy days that are pretty much spent watching movies and baking cookies. I love days like that. The only draw back is that it's hard to find photo opps when you're holed up inside the house most of the day. Looking at other 365 blogs, there are scenic pictures of someones garden, or their misty "back yard" that looks more like a Thomas Kinkade landscape than a back yard, or portraits of their children.

Well...it's winter and there's nothing scenic or misty about my back yard on Sunday. When I look out, I am not moved to grab my camera, I am only reminded that I need to go pooper scoop the yard before it snows. And I don't have kids to use as my test subjects as I attempt to discover the affect of changing the aperture from f 4.3 to f 22.

What I do have is a giant dog that has literally followed me around all day. Seriously. As I talked to Melissa on the phone about her recent engagement, Mya followed behind me as I paced from the living room to the hallway to my bedroom and back to the living room. A half step behind in hopes that my hand will brush her head as I turn around. I have a lab who is content to watch the parade from where he is laying comfortably in the sun spot on the rug, as long as he has his tennis ball to chew on. Of course, when we don't return to the living room soon enough, he will come to find out what the hold up is. I have a fat cat who Austin refers to as Hitler because she has two black spots above her mouth which I assume he thinks looks like a Hitler mustache. And I have another spastic cat who can't decide whether she wants to be in or out (she's currently out) and typically spends most of her time terrorizing "Hitler" (aka Dora). I am also blessed with 4 nieces and nephews, but they weren't around today, so I had to make do with the zoo...

So, that is what I have pictures of...and it's my guess that I'll have a fair amount more in future posts. Especially when it's cold, but drearily "blah" outside.

School's out early because of snow! I love snow because it just seems to make everything outside prettier :) And because it also means snow days!!!
