Playing with Photobucket

October 8, 2010

I have a secret dream in life to one day own a really amazing camera and take Ansel Adams like photographs. I totally covet other people's cameras with the interchangeable lenses and detachable flashes. I spend hours researching which camera will make my perfect first SLR camera (hello Nikon D90). I look at the professional photographs hanging on my walls and imagine that one day, I too will be able to take amazing shots like that.

If I didn't love being a guidance counselor so much, I would be a photographer. I wouldn't want a studio though. I don't want to take senior pictures or those cheezy family Christmas card photos where everyone is dressed in matching sweaters and dad is standing behind mom with his hand on her shoulder, while the kids are seated in front, back to back, with their elbows on their knees and their chins propped in the palm of their hands.

I want to travel and take pictures of the people and places I visit. I want to take pictures of my nieces and nephews climbing trees or trying to ride the dog or playing dress up in my pink, faux croc heels. I want to take pictures of real life and the world.

Ahh...maybe one day. For now though, I'll settle for playing around with my Sony Cybershot and photobucket :)
