It's summer...and one of the nice things about summer for those of us who work in the public school system and are fortunate enough to get summers off, is a lot of free time. And hopefully, in a couple of weeks after the graduate classes I'm taking are over, I'll get to enjoy some of that free time. Until then, I find pleasure in quiet evenings at home, feet propped up on the new ottaman we received as a wedding gift (thank you Hendrens), watching The Godfather II.

WE GOT ANOTHER WEDDING GIFT IN THE MAIL TODAY!!! I love getting mail. It makes me so excited. Especially, when "mail" is a giant package that's big enough for Austin to sit on! :)

I love doing yard work. I love planting flowers and planning new ways of landscaping. I even enjoy weeding at times, seriously. But, it's always nice to have an enterprising nephew who wants to do some extra work around the house for some spending $, and a niece who just thinks digging is fun to help out at times.
Ariah, loves to dig in dirt, but she's also a princess and loves having her picture taken. Cheese.

I love evenings in the summer. The air is warm but the breeze keeps things cool (for the most part) and there's always the smell of fresh cut grass, or flowers, or BBQ. Summer evenings inspire pick up basketball games on the driveway hoop
Or tossing a softball around
or eating ice off the front porch (Austin, give the dogs some water please, was the request. His solution? Take the ice bucket out of the freezer and dump it on the porch)
or wrestling in the lawn
or Tim Reed bonfires.
I really don't think life gets much better than this....

Sometimes I wish my life were more photogenic. There have been a few days (okay, more than a few) where I get to the end and I realize I haven't taken a picture, and I think "what in the world do I take a picture of?" I spend most of my days at work....from school to the Tav and the evenings I spend catching up on DVRed TV shows. Not a whole lot of excitement to document in pictures. What I do have are enough animals to max out the legal # of pets allowed in city limits, 3 adorable nieces and nephews, and an amazing fiance who loves a quiet, unglamorous life as much as I do. And so, often times, you're gonna get pictures of my dog, who is laying quietly on the floor in a rare moment of non-movement

or feet poking out of the covers during an afternoon nap.

Because that's all I've got to work with :) But I love it.
LOVE the one of your feet! So "couple-ish" :)
