Every Sunday is "Sunday Funday" for Austin and I. We go to church together and afterwards we do whatever we feel like doing. It's the one day where we can spend the whole day with each other. Today's Sunday Funday consisted of Waffle House before church, lunch with my parents for Mother's Day, registering for more funny gifts at Target (and me browsing the mall for shoes for the wedding), taking my nephew to see Iron Man 2 for his b-day present, having dinner and drinks with my friend Tammy who was in town for the weekend, and then just relaxing at home picking out his wedding band online and watch LOST.
Although the events of our Sunday Funday this week were pretty mundane (aside from Iron Man 2 which was a very entertaining 2 hours and 5 minutes), it was in the midst of the ordinary that I realized I have an extra-ordinary fiance. He is patient with me when I am frustrated, crabby, and pouting (today for example, when I lost my sunglasses in the mall and didn't realize it until we were at the car..I was frustrated and ready to just leave, but Austin calmly said "they must be in Dillards or the tux shop. Come on baby, we'll go find them." And we did, sitting on the counter in the tux shop just like he thought), he sits and listens to girl talk over dinner even when the original plan was for the two of us to use dinner to do wedding planning, and he makes an effort to make my niece and nephew feel like rock stars.
Today's picture is of my nephew riding his bike without training wheels for the first time. Ethan was SO excited that he could ride his bike and when we went to pick him up for the movie, he wanted to show of his new skill. We were running late and after telling E what an awesome job he did, I said that we needed to put his bike away and go to the movie. Austin though, leans over and says, "It's fine honey...we can always go to the 4:50 movie. He's having so much fun". Ethan is still a little wobbly on 2 wheels and crashes when he tries to turn, but Austin made him feel like he'd just won a gold medal at the Olympics with his enthusiastic encouragement. When I see him with Ethan and my other niece and newphew, I realize that Austin will be a great father one day...
