My wedding planner

Today's picture is of my new, handy dandy wedding planner. Yep, I took a picture of my wedding planner...that's how excited I am about it :) Sunday afternoon between church and lunch with my parents for Mother's Day, I drug Austin to Barnes and Noble to pick out a wedding planner. This is something that I thought would be a piece of cake...run in, grab one, and run out. 5 minute stop. Ha. Yeah right. The lady escorted me to the section where they had the planners and I stood, wide eyed in shock and excitement, at a book-case about 12 feet tall filled with notebooks, binders, organizers, all for wedding planning! I was most excited when the salesperson told me I could tear the shrink wrapping off the Martha Stewart planner so I could flip through it. So, when Austin came to find me a few minutes later, I was sprawled on the floor with binders open in front of me comparing the pictures, worksheets, and other random features of each organizer. I was expecting him to tell me to hurry or tell me that it wasn't that big of a deal and I should just pick one or more likely, tell me that I didn't need a fancy planner in the first place. But, instead, he grabbed one off the shelf, thumbed through it and then handed it to me saying "what about this one" :) And so, the two of caused a traffic jam in the middle of the Barnes and Noble aisle, trying to chose my perfect planner. And, Voila! Here is what we ended up with. The only thing I wish were different about it was that it was a 3 ring binder that I could add stuff to instead of spiral bound...but I just paper clip extra pages to the cover or the folders inside to make it work. :)

It's funny that I carry it with me everywhere now. It's become another appendage! But, let me tell you, it's well worth it. The OCD, slightly type A side of me dances with excitement every time I open the cover and flip through the shiny, tabbed folders. I even Xeroxed the worksheets so I could do a rough draft before copying the final draft in ink onto the actual pages of my planner. I feel like it's the first day of school and I have all my brand new supplies and I can't wait to write in my crisp, clean, notebook with my black fine tipped pen! Except, THIS notebook has pretty pictures and a sassy pink cover. It definitely makes wedding planning so much more fun...and I was having a blast in the first place :)

  1. I feel you on the school supplies. Nothing better than a brand new "good writin' pen" :)
