I love my birthday. It's a holiday. Seriously...sometimes, it actually is...when it falls on Memorial Day like it did last year. Every other year, it's just a holiday for me...and everyone who knows me. Because that's how much I love my birthday.
May 25th. Best day ever. Since my awesome day was squandered this year by an awards ceremony at school, my family celebrated Rachel-Day on the evening of Mondaythe 24th. We gathered at my parents house for a KFC dinner followed by the traditional Turtle cake (my niece and nephew call me Aunt Turtle...long story), and the opening of gifts (Sharon was bummed that her original give was vetoed by Austin and she couldn't actually give me a pony- yes, a real pony, not the My Little kind).
After dinner, Austin and I went home where we crashed on the couch and watched 4 hours of LOST (thank you DVR) until mid-night when we rang in the official B-DAY! YAY!!! I can't think of a better "pre-birthday day" ever :)
I love my family.
